KUCHING: Pahang Regent Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah will make a four-day visit to Sarawak from Jan 15 to 19.
In a recent Instagram story, he conveyed his excitement, saying: “Dear Sarawakians, I am on the way.”
During his visit, he will discuss on carbon capture and storage, in addition to holding a meeting with Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Tengku Hassanal’s last visit to Sarawak was during the Kembara Kenali Borneo tour, where he accompanied his father, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, in September 2023.
The tour commenced in Tawau, Sabah, with Al-Sultan Abdullah personally driving, accompanied by the Queen, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.
Throughout the journey from Lawas to Kuching, Sarawakians eagerly awaited Tengku Hassanal, seeking photos, videos, and the chance for a handshake.
Covering 2,154 kilometres along the Pan Borneo Highway, the Kembara Kenali Borneo tour provided an opportunity for the people of Sabah and Sarawak to connect with Al-Sultan Abdullah, Tunku Azizah, and their children.
The expedition concluded after 11 days, reaching Telok Melano, Lundu, on Sept 13.
