The progress of the overall Pan Borneo Highway Project is satisfactory and the overall completion will be on 30 June, 2021 based on the Project Delivery Partner Agreement, said Assistant Minister for Coastal Road, Datuk Haji Julaihi Haji Narawi.
Replying to Chew Chiu Sing (DAP-Tanjong Batu) during the State Legislative Assembly sitting in Petra Jaya yesterday, Julaihi said the respective completion dates and their actual works done as at 25 September, 2017 for the following packages under the Development of Pan Borneo Highway Project are as follows.
He said the Telok Melano to Sematan Package; Sematan to Sg. Moyan Package; Pantu Junction to Btg. Skrang Package; Sung a i Awi k to Bint angor Package; Bintangor to Sungai Kua Package ; Sungai Kua to Sungai Arip Package; Sungai Arip to Bintulu Junction Package; Nyabau to Bakun Junction (Kick Off Project) the original completion date was 29.10.2017 and the revised completion date is 20.8.2018; Bakun Junction to Sungai Tangap Junction Package; and Sungai Tangap to Pujut Link Road Package are all ahead of their schedule dates.
Thus far, he said, there are slight delays in two packages of the project namely the Package from Serian to Pantu Junction which is 2.25% behind schedule due to limited resources of manpower and machinery; and Package from Btg. Skrang to Sg. Awik which is 0.50% behind schedule due to minor delays in the progress on piling for bridge works.
With regards to Nyabau to Bakun Junction, he said, the original completion date was on 29 Oct, 2017 and had been revised to be completed on 20 Aug, 2018. Two extension of time was granted/approved due to delay in obstruction of structures. The project is currently progressing as schedule.
