NIAH: Two cars parked in front of a hardware shop in Batu Niah town here, were damaged in a midnight fire today (June 1).
Firefighters from Batu Niah station was dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call at 12.09am.
Upon arrival, they discovered that the engine part of the Honda Accord and Toyota Fortuner were burning.
The extinguishing deed was quickly performed using water sourced from a nearby fire hydrant.
Once the situation was deemed safe and there is no risk of reignition, the team ended the operation at 12.50am.
The exact cause of the fire and losses incurred is yet to be ascertained.
