MIRI: Piasau assemblyman yesterday applauded the public here for their cooperation, efforts and their endless generosity in providing donations and aid for the frontliners who have been on duty since the first day of the movement control order (MCO).

Datuk Sebastian Ting also expressed his gratitude to the farmers and traders, workers and business owners of supermarkets who had been working non-stop to stock up supplies and necessities to ensure the state was not short of food supplies.

“The supermarkets and their employees play an important role in ensuring the security of food supplies and preventing panic buying among the public.

“I have told them this and I am happy that the public listen and abide by the rules,” he told reporters at the Miri Hospital yesterday.

Ting, who is also Tourism, Arts and Culture Assistant Minister, added that he was glad that there were few Covid-19 cases in Miri.
