KUCHING: The Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Kampung Paya Mebi branch’s Social and Welfare Bureau continues its charitable activities by extending assistance to the needy.
The programme was held in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan at Kampung Paya Mebi here.
A total of 30 people consisting of the less fortunate including the elderly received aid in the form of food items and ‘duit raya’.
The donation was presented by PBB Kampung Paya Mebi Branch Social and Welfare Bureau chairman Shamsudin Unai during the Ramadan Charity Ceremony held at the Kampung Paya Mebi multipurpose hall on Saturday (Apr 15).
Shamsudin said the annual programme is an activity carried out by the party branch in conjunction with the month of Ramadan.
He also thanked the contributions by donors who are concerned about the plight of those in need.
“We hope that through this donation, it will help lessen the burden of the needy especially as they are celebrating Hari Raya,” he said.
He mentioned the party branch will continue to run the programme in the years to come.
At the same event, Shamsudin who is also the PBB Batu Kitang Branch deputy chief represented the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development and PBB Batu Kitang Branch chief Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri by presenting donations to a total of 100 less fortunate from 18 villages in the Batu Kitang area.
The aid in the form of food and cash was donated by the PBB Batu Kitang Branch.
