TANJUNG MANIS: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Kuala Rajang has set up a new branch in Tanjung Manis to provide better services to the local constituents.
Tanjung Manis PBB branch chief Ibnee Ekni said the establishment of the branch served as a platform for the people of Tanjung Manis to secure victory for the Sarawak Coalition Party (GPS) in the coming state election.
“With the existence of this branch, the people of Tanjung Manis can channel ideas that can be used for the common good,” he told reporters yesterday.
Ibnee said the branch received over 100 new members from Tanjung Manis, Jerijeh, Rajang and Belawai on the first day of the committee’s launch yesterday.
“We have also received applications from members of the People’s Justice Party (PKR) and Amanah but we need to consider their applications first.
“In this regard, we invite anyone who participates, contributes ideas or wishes to become a member of the Tanjung Manis PBB branch to contact the women and youth secretaries,” he said.
Kuala Rajang assemblyman Datuk Len Talif Salleh, who is also Kuala Rajang PBB Branch chief, officiated at the launch of the new branch yesterday.
In his speech, he reminded committees and party members to remain united and move as one team.
“The preparation of our machinery has been good and I am confident that the cooperation and commitment of all the committee members will be able to help GPS achieve a great victory in Kuala Rajang,” he added.
