PBB Youth fosters ties through convoy

KAPIT: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth Wing hosted a three-day ‘12th State Election Mission’ convoy from Sibu to Kapit, that began last Saturday (Aug 22) and ended on Monday (Aug 24).

PBB Youth chief Gerald Rentap Jabu said the programme aimed to foster ties among the party’s youth members and to prepare them for the coming state election.

“We stopped at Rh Nanga Bulang in Kanowit where we had a programme with the PBB Youth branches and sub-branches nearby.

“Then we left for Kapit where we were welcomed by Bukit Goram assemblyman Jefferson Jamit Unyat in the evening,” the Layar assemblyman said on Monday.

The next day (Sunday), the convoy had a briefing at the Kapit Civic Centre on the development plans implemented by the Public Works Department (JKR) totalling RM4.3 billion in the division, including Song and Belaga.

He also mentioned that they visited the Iban Methodist Church at KM3, Jalan Bukit Goram and Kampung Baru in Jalan Suhari, where members took part in community-based activities.

“We also had a dialogue on the future plans for Song.

“We also used the 9KM Jalan Temalat-Ngungun that connects Song to Kanowit.

“Although road construction is still ongoing, I believe that the project can be completed by this November.”

About 100 PBB Youth members from across the state participated in the three-day convoy comprising some 30 vehicles.

Also involved were deputy chiefs Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman and Miro Simuh, who are the assemblymen for Tupong and Serembu respectively; vice-chiefs Aidel Lariwoo, who is Sadong Jaya assemblyman, and Leonard Jambu; treasurer Allan Siden Gramong, who is Machan assemblyman; and organising chairman Malcolm Layang.
