LAWAS: Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Henry Sum Agong espoused the role of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth in strengthening the position of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).
He said the youth movement played an important role to ensure GPS remains relevant.
“Recently, a meeting at the top level decided that PBB will form a group for youths aged 18 to 28 years, and this group should be given guidance and instruction,” said Henry when officiating at a badminton competition at the Lawas Mega Sports Hall here on Wednesday (Feb 2).
According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), the competition was organised by the Youth wing of PBB Bukit Sari branch.
Henry, who is Lawas MP, said the competition could be organised again two years after the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This year, the competition can resume in compliance with the standard operating procedure (SOP),” he said.
