SARATOK: The Kalaka assemblyman, Mohamad Duri, has reminded the leaders of the Youth Wing of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) in his area to emulate veteran politicians.
He emphasised that as frequently highlighted by the party’s top leaders, PBB remains robust and resilient thanks to the loyalty of its leaders.
“Besides being loyal to PBB, our leaders embody the ethos of learning from their seniors.
“Within the party, we undergo training, beginning with participation in the youth, women, and fathers’ wings, culminating in our youth movement.
“Through these experiences, we acquire the skills needed to become authentic leaders of the future,” he remarked.
These statements were made following his visit to former PBB Kalaka Branch Committee member, Mahtada Daud.
Mohamad stressed that a committed leader will be commemorated for their contributions, even if they have withdrawn from politics.
He urged the youth movement in the Kalaka constituency to engage more residents in joining PBB.
“Primarily, PBB serves as an ideal platform for young individuals to contribute their ideas towards the progress of Sarawak.
“Moreover, with an increased PBB membership, the party, a pivotal component of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), will further fortify its position.
“In light of this, I encourage the PBB Kalaka Youth Movement to intensify their efforts. I hope they can amplify the voices of the youth from the Kalaka constituency in advocating for their aspirations,” he added.
While visiting Mahtada, Mohamad conveyed his sympathies.
“What weighs heavily on the eyes is even heavier on the shoulders. Our comrade has recently been diagnosed with cancer and is presently undergoing treatment at Sarikei Hospital.
“Having been a dedicated member of PBB in the Kalaka region, he previously held the position of Chief of the PBB Branch in Kampung Tanjung and served as a member of the Kalaka Branch Committee.
“My thoughts are with him for a swift recovery and a return to good health,” he continued.
Accompanying him was the Secretary of the PBB Kalaka Branch, Gapor Ahmad, who also presented a personal contribution to Mahtada to aid him during his visits to Sarikei.
