SIBU: The establishment of the Youth Wing of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), catering to individuals aged 18 to 28, represents a sincere acknowledgement of the significance of youth involvement in politics and the advancement of Sarawak.

Datuk Abdullah Saidol, a PBB Supreme Council member and Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Corporate Affairs, Information, and UKAS), emphasised the relevance of youth participation in the political arena.

He noted that today’s youth approach state development and the future with a more competitive, creative, and open mindset.

“The engagement and contributions of young individuals are crucial because their thought processes are progressively forward-thinking, innovative, and oriented towards Sarawak’s growth,” Abdullah remarked.

Furthermore, Abdullah underscored the necessity of altering the negative perceptions of some youth who consider politics a futile pursuit.

“The future leadership of Sarawak should consist of individuals who are deeply patriotic, visionary, ethical, and committed to upholding integrity.

“We seek individuals of exemplary character to enter politics with the genuine aim of advocating for Sarawak’s interests. Otherwise, unqualified individuals may seize control, jeopardising Sarawak’s future,” he cautioned.

He expressed optimism that this initiative would motivate more young people to partake in politics, playing a pivotal role in the state’s progress and ensuring a brighter, more forward-looking future for Sarawak.

On Sunday, October 6, Abang Johari presided over the inauguration of the new PBB Youth Wing at the RH Hotel.
