BINTULU: Petronas Chemicals Group Berhad (PCG) yesterday launched  the  finale of its annual PCG Be Green Campaign

here to promote a greener lifestyle towards a more viable future amongst the communities where it operates.

With a business philosophy that is anchored on sustainability

with focus on environment, health and safety as well as society, the company’s 2017 edition of the campaign saw a collaboration while the Malaysian Plastics Manufacturers Association (MPMA)  to educate the public on the  safety usage of plastics in supporting the Malaysian government’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions.

PCG Be green 2017 finale which was attended by 750 schoolchildren from 23 schools around Bintulu, was officiated by PCG Head of Project Directorate Haji Mohamad Iskandar Bakeri.

This year, the PCG Be Green Campaign was further enhanced with a series of activities that included talks on the benefits of plastics, plastic recycling and waste management practices and competitions on recycling.

This year’s programme was also organized together with the Natural Resources and Environment Board, Bintulu Development Authority and Bintulu District Education Office.

The programme will continue with schools around Kuantan.
