MUKAH: Community Based Rehabilitation Centre of Dalat (PDK Dalat) is now among the 29 four-star centres in the state.
The centre at Jalan Oya-Dalat here received the most awaited rating award from Minister of Welfare, Women and Community Wellbeing, Datuk Hajah Fatimah Abdullah last Sunday.
Fatimah who is also Dalat Assemblywoman congratulated the PDK Dalat staff, trainees and those involved.
Fatimah pointed out that there are 51 PDK in Sarawak and the star rating was made based on various criteria such as staff management and committee and the development of the trainees at the PDK.
“These criteria comprise individual rehabilitation plan, financial management and asset management like asset maintenance, arrangement and so forth related to the centre,” she said.
“Other matters that have been included are the record management system like health, treatment and therapy, safety matters, programme management, activities and image, with the cheerfulness of PDK’s compound also contributes to the star rating of the PDK in the state,” she added.
At the event Fatimah also presented certificates and awards to the Best Trainee for PDK Dalat last year.
Zulaiha Bt Ganas, who has hearing and speaking difficulties received the 2016 Overall Best Trainee and Exemplary Trainee 2016 Awards at that auspicious occasion. For her achievements, 25-year-old Zulaiha was also given a sewing machine and an edge-sewing machine.
Among those present were Dalat District Officer, Kueh Lei Poh, PDK Dalat Committee Chairman, Haidah Bt Jeraie, Temenggong Hendi Suhai, heads of departments and local community leaders.
