SIBU: A male pedestrian died from severe injuries after he was knocked down by a car early this morning.
Sibu OCPD ACP Zulkipli Suhaili, who confirmed the accident, said it happened at 6.25am along Jalan Lanang, here.
He said the car, driven by a 26-year-old man, was moving straight towards Ulu Lanang when the 43-year-old victim who happened to be crossing the road, was knocked down by the car.
“Due to the impact, the victim sustained severe injuries to his head and was pronounced dead at the scene,” he said, adding that the body was taken to the hospital for a post-mortem.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
