LUNDU: A local man died on the spot after being knocked down by a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) at Lorong Biawak 10 here, early this morning.
The accident, involving a Nissan Grand Livina, happened around 4.35 am.
Firefighters from Lundu station were dispatched to the scene, about 26km away, after receiving an emergency call.
Upon arrival, they found the man trapped under the vehicle and rescue efforts were carried out to extricate him.
The victim, identified as Immanuel Heypli, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
His body was handed over to the police to be transported to Lundu Hospital for a post-mortem.
