KAPIT: Pelagus assemblyman Wilson Nyabong Ijang held a meeting with community leaders in his state constituency recently.
“This is how I manage my Pelagus constituency. Every year, we have two meetings with the community leaders to establish better working relationships and at the same time to disseminate vital information on government policies and development agenda,” he told the press after the meeting.
“The meeting is also to plan and carry out development in my constituency or promises made by me. I can solve it within the next six months, before the end of the year.”
Nyabong said the community leaders were the most important components in managing his constituency.
“I asked them to talk to their JKKK (Village Security and Development Committee) and various bureaus such as Women Bureau, Children Education, Parent-Teacher Association to plan their activities so that they bring it here for discussion.
“I asked them to submit at least three projects to the Project Bank where I keep all their feedback. At this meeting, I would ask them what is their prioritised project first.
“I also tell them how much the MRP (Minor Rural Development Fund) allocation for the various bureaus,” said Nyabong.
“I also explain to them how important the NCR land perimeter survey is. What is important to me is sustainable agriculture, so that they can be financially independent instead of depending on government assistance.”
