KUCHING: Pele Peter Tinggom today took oath as the new Sarawak State Assembly Secretary before Speaker Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar.
Born in Saratok, Tinggom holds a Masters of Laws (With Honors) degree from Aglia Ruskin University, United Kingdom, and a Diploma in Management (Executive) from the Australian Institute of Management at Western Australia University.
Prior to this, he had served as Sarawak State Assembly deputy secretary from 2011 to 2015 and also as a special officer at the Prime Minister’s Department.
Meanwhile, Mohamad Asfia, in his speech after the swearing-in ceremony, said the new post would not be new to Tinggom as he had served as an officer of the Parliament since 2009.
“With the experience he has, I am fully confident that he can discharge all the responsibilities entrusted to him in the best possible manner,” he added. – Bernama
