SRI AMAN: The Pencils Project Association has been approved by the Registrar of Societies of Malaysia (ROS).
Its founder Norina Umoi Utot said that with the approval, the association, first formed in 2015, will be able to pursue its objectives according to its constitution.
“For the past four years we have been championing the Pencil Project Association around Sri Aman with the hope of encouraging children and parents to raise the dignity of children’s education in the interior and to ease the burden of low and middle income families.
“We do this by donating stationery to children and encouragement incentives to the outstanding ones,” she said at a Pencil Project Contribution Ceremony held at Joel longhouse, Bijat Ai near here Tuesday.
Norina said the association is now more comfortable in taking steps to realise its vision and mission, especially in early childhood education and at primary school level.
