KUCHING: Companies based in the peninsula are committed to aiding the development of Sarawak.

Following a courtesy visit to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, Malaysian Rating Corporation Bhd (MARC) chief executive officer Arshad Mohammed Ismail expressed their intent to strengthen the company’s commitment to Sarawak’s economic growth.

He added that the meeting also discussed past initiatives carried out for the state.

“We are currently collaborating with several companies and agencies in Sarawak that have plans to enter the financial market.

“MARC will assist several Sarawak-based companies and agencies planning to issue bonds.

“This includes the rating process to ensure that the issued bonds receive good ratings and attract investor interest,” he said.

He told reporters this after the courtesy call at Wisma Bapa Malaysia today (Aug 8).

Earlier, Abang Johari also received courtesy visits from the Malaysian Institute of Planners and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Malaysia Holdings Sdn. Bhd.
