KUCHING: Sarawak Petanque Association (Pepsar) welcomes any forms of assistance from corporations to raise the standard of the game in the state.
“We are very glad to receive assistance from Damai Golf and Country Club as they are the first corporate body to come forward to help us,” Pepsar president Othman Mat said during a presentation ceremony at Damai Golf and Country Club here yesterday.
The assistance in a form of tyres will enable petanque players to shapen their shooting skills, Damai Golf and Country Club general manager Roslan Mohamad Salleh told reporters after the presentation, adding that it is part of the company’s efforts to indirectly strengthen the state’s team taking in the 2020 Sukma in Johor.
Sarawak bagged a silver medal in the 2018 Sukma in Perak.
