IPOH: Perak FC will never give up and, instead, fight till the end as they gear up for the Malaysia Cup semi-finals, first-leg tie against defending champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) at the Perak Stadium here on Oct 19.
Perak FC coach Yusri Che Lah said he is aware that JDT are a complete team but that won’t stop his men from staying focused and trying to spring a surprise.
“Everyone knows JDT’s strength. I don’t need to tell you that but, in terms of my players, I believe they are all determined to win.
“Anything can happen during the match and I think my men must not respect the opponents too much, more so since we will be playing on home ground. So, let’s use it to our advantage and seal victory,” he told Bernama when contacted today.
After all, 2018 Malaysia Cup champions Perak have done it before when they stunned Sabah 1-0 – courtesy of a Wan Zack Haikal goal – in the second leg of the quarter-finals at the Perak Stadium on Sept 25 to qualify for the last four on a 3-2 aggregate.
Yusri, meanwhile, is also counting on the supporters of The Bos Gaurus, as Perak are known, to converge on the Perak Stadium and lift the players to a famous victory.
“The supporters are like our 12th player, they can give us an extra boost and I believe our fans can help the players to turn on the style and go for victory,” he said.
Yusri also confirmed that all his players are free from injuries and suspensions, adding that they are all raring to be fielded.
“In summary, they are all in the best ’mood’, both mentally and physically. All that’s left is for me to feed them with some instructions and details to help improve our chances of challenging JDT,” he said. – BERNAMA
