“I urge all members residing in Bungin, Serembang, Mangut, Medang, Supa, Balingan, Tanjung Assam, Sebemban, Buda and here to be present.

“An election for a new committee for the 2019 to 2021 term will also be held in this meeting,” he said.

Mohamad added that the branch is three years old with over 300 members to date.

He also invited residents around the district to register as a member of the association because it provides a lot of benefits.

“The association also has a mission to create a knowledgeable Malay society by emphasising the importance of lifelong learning in terms of religious, academic and social education.

“On members’ welfare, Perkemas strives to assist in managing members who are in the limelight and tries to cover members through group insurance to enable it to assist bereaved families,” he said.

In order to create a knowledgeable society, Mohamad said Perkemas will assist members on their children’s academic and religious education.

“The association will also identify and work with the authorities concerned to assist members who could not afford to continue their studies because of financial problems.

“In order to encourage children of the members to achieve excellent academic results, Perkemas will reward the children with incentives annually.

“To achieve these goals, the full support from Saribas residents is expected. The strength of UPM is that many of Saribas members are members of the association,” he said.
