KUCHING: Muslim Welfare Organisation of Malaysia, Sarawak branch (PERKIM) will hold its 29th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 31 March – 2 April at a hotel in Bintulu. This year Bintulu was chosen to be the host for the 29th AGM of PERKIM Sarawak.
The AGM is expected to be attended by 116 delegates including 17 PERKIM committee members and 59 observers.
PERKIM AGM has been held in Kuching, Sibu, Mukah, Bintulu and Lawas. Last year it was held in Sibu.
Some of the activities in the 29th AGM include seminar, religious lectures and talks and visit to orphanages in Bintulu. Members of PERKIM Sarawak Branch will also set up booths to sell local products.
PERKIM Sarawak has 19 branches namely in Kuching, Kota Samarahan, Sebuyau, Serian, Lundu, Sri Aman, Sarikei, Belawai, Sibu, Mukah, Balingian, Dalat/Oya, Kuala Igan, Matu, Bintulu, Miri, Limbang, Lawas and Bekenu.
PERKIM is one of biggest Islamic NGO in Sarawak which unites Muslim women and look after their welfare, education and holds religious activities for them.
