KUCHING: Members of the public are still required to obtain a permit for inter-district travel from their nearest police station. State Commissioner of Police Datuk Aidi Ismail said the need for the permit is aimed at curbing the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak to several green zone areas, especially within Sarawak’s rural areas. This move is out of fear that those from the city who are returning home might spread the virus to the villages. He further stated that there are 44 roadblocks that have begun operating around Sarawak starting at 7am yesterday (May 10).
