Perodua cars, bikes up for grabs at Sejiwa Senada

KUCHING: This weekend will be a perfect time for the people in Kuching and the surrounding areas to head to Dataran MJC, Batu Kawa near here to visit the two-day Sejiwa Senada Programme on May 5 & 6.

In a press statement from the State Protocol and Public Relations Unit, two Perodua cars are the grand prizes to be won by lucky visitors taking part in the lucky draw contest to be held in conjunction with the popular event.

In order to win the cars and other prizes, participants must fill in a form and get it stamped from the various booths available and return the form to the secretariat.

Additionally, two Modenas Kriss motorcycles are also up for grabs by lucky visitors. Other attractive items to be won include televisions, branded handphones, computer gadgets plus other electrical appliances.

The public are urged to visit the exhibition to gain knowledge, receive government services, be entertained and walk away with various prizes.

140 booths would be set up by the state and federal agencies, government-linked companies and private sector for the people.

Meanwhile, on the entertainment side, the Concert Sejiwa Senada will start at 8pm at the same venue on May 7 featuring famous artistes from Kuala Lumpur and local singers. They are Jay Jay (Rindu Bayangan), Zizi Kirana (AF7 & D Academy Asia), Bob Yusuf (AF2), Iban singer Ricky Andrewson, Dayangku Fazillah, Alice Liew, Iwan Dasri, Zaki Zaidi and D’ Cipta band.

Prior to the concert, they will perform at the pre-show scheduled at 8.30am before the official opening ceremony by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg. 

Bob is one of Malaysia’s top artistes after participating in Akademi Fantasia 2 while Zizi, from Sabah is known for dangdut, pop and hip hop genre. 

At the same time, more than 30 stalls are available at the Sarawak Kitchen to serve those who are hungry and thirsty, all under one roof.

The Sejiwa Senada Programme acts as a one-stop platform for the government to meet and serve the people while the people will be involved in activities such as sports and recreational.

The programme also aims to enhance the feel good factor among the people so that they would be confident and aware of what the government is doing in bringing development and to uplift the socioeconomic and living standards of the people.

Through the Sejiwa Senada Programme, the government hopes to build better rapport with the rakyat and to sustain good cooperation with them for the sake of progress and harmony in the state.

The next host for Sejiwa Senada Programme is Lubok Antu on May 7 and 8.

Members of the public are invited to enliven the Sejiwa Senada Programme as well as the concert.
