KUCHING: The PESTAB team from Betong Division were given a boost ahead of the Sarawak Invitation Sepak Takraw Championship, International Open Team, Chief Minister’s Cup (Datuk Amar Abang Haji Johari Tun Openg) which started Thursday.
DP Ice Cream Gula Apong sponsored the official jerseys to the team for the ongoing four-day tournament.
The sponsorship handing over ceremony was held at the Executive Director’s House of DP Ice Cream Gula Apong, Datuk Dr Haji Paruwadi Musa at The Park Residence earlier this week.
The ceremony was officiated by the northern region manager of DP Ice Cream Gula Apong, Haji Khairol Adha Datuk Dr Haji Paruwadi.
PESTAB was represented by PESTAB Supreme Council Member (AMT), Haji Ali Napiah.
“We hope with this support in terms of sponsoring this jersey will be able to inspire the PESTAB players through matches in the tournament,” Khairol said.
Meanwhile, Haji Ali thanked the DP Ice Cream Gula Apong for their support.
“I believe the players will be more eager to go through the games during the tournament,” said Ali.
The PESTAB squad comprise Gilbert Ak Alden, Jason Dunggau Ak Jonathan, Mohd. Nasrul Rosli, Syafiq Shamsudin and Dana Ak Putit.
