KUCHING: The Petra Jaya FC (PJFC) team survived a thrilling 90-minute showdown to qualify to the final match of the football championship, Unity Cup 2017 after a dazzling 6-1 victory over the champions of group B, Bocanisa FC, in the semi-finals match held at the Padang C , Petra Jaya on last Saturday.
PJFC striker Wan Badreen Wan Yusuf put PJFC into a comfortable 5-0 lead in the first half after completing his hat-trick.
The other two goals were scored off free-kicks by midfielder Mohd Firdaus Zamri and striker Amir Amri. PJFC team manager, Izwandie Razali said: “Of course, all the players worked hard to keep the winning momentum and keep our excellent performance.”
“Moreover, PJFC are still ambitious and eager to pursue our first champion title,” added Izwandie.
PJFC team captain Haziq said: “Whoever team that we aregoing to face later, it wil be tough opponents. We should always be well prepared and maintain consistency and great performance.
“At the moment everything looks very positive. We’re always trying to advance.”
The final match of the Unity Cup 2017 will take place at FieldC, Petra Jaya at 8:15pm on Saturday (Nov 18) where PJFC will play against DJB FT. Expectedly the f inal wi l l present a fascinating and intense rivalry between the two teams for football fans to witness.
