KAPIT: Over 30,000 secondary school students nationwide have benefited from PETRONAS’ Discover @ School programme since 2013, said Works Minister Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi.
He commended the company and its partners, including the Sarawak State Education Department, for empowering students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields.
“Thanks to this collaboration, we can achieve the aspirations outlined in Malaysia’s Education Development Plan,” Nanta said during the handover of medical equipment to the Kapit Health Clinic today (Nov 23).
To enhance healthcare services in Sarawak, PETRONAS, in partnership with the Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers of Sarawak (SABATI), is donating RM1.3 million worth of medical equipment to 26 rural clinics statewide.
The clinic, one of the beneficiaries, received over RM50,000 worth of medical and non-medical items.
“Health is the most valuable asset. PETRONAS and SABATI are taking effective steps to provide quality and accessible healthcare facilities to rural communities in Sarawak,” he said.
Nanta urged continued collaboration among the government, PETRONAS and other stakeholders to ensure the country’s sustainable future.
