Petronas holds annual dialogue to enhance synergy

BINTULU: The Sarawak-Petronas Annual Strategic Dialogue (ASD) 2022 was held here on Monday.

The ASD is a key platform to strengthen collaboration between Petronas and the state government in the oil and gas industry, according to a statement from the Petronas Media Communications Department.

“Through this platform, both parties are committed towards enhancing a stable, conducive business and investment environment for the industry’s sustainable growth in the state,” it said.

Both parties also commemorated their strategic collaboration achievements on the sidelines of the event.

At the ceremony, some 11 representatives of Petronas vendors from Sarawak received tokens of appreciation as a symbolic commemoration of the success of Sarawak companies in the oil and gas industry namely, Maxgrip Services Sdn Bhd; Amalgamated Plant Engineering Sdn Bhd; EP Engineering Sdn Bhd; Miri Port Authority; JVC Mega Sdn Bhd; Tegas Navigation Sdn Bhd; Hurricane Geo Inspection Services Sdn Bhd; Welfield Services Sdn Bhd; Kumus Sdn Bhd; Rizkika Coastrade and Journey Sdn Bhd and Serigas Engineering Sdn Bhd.

The ceremony was witnessed by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg. Also present were Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, Petronas Chaiman Tan Sri Mohd Bakke Salleh and Petronas President and Group chief executive officer Datuk Tengku Muhammad Taufik.

Meanwhile, adviser to the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment Sarawak Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais urged more Sarawakian companies to seize opportunities, be more competitive and keep up-to-date with the current energy industry trends.

Petronas Vice President of Group Procurement Freida Amat stressed that both Sarawak government and Petronas are committed to nurture a robust Oil and Gas Services and Equipment (OGSE) ecosystem.

“Continuous efforts are focused on enhancing the capability and capacity of Sarawakian companies, a progressive journey which will bring about longer-term impact,” she said.
