KUCHING: Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) Sarawak is eager to support the state’s vaccination exercise, said Zulaihi Mohd Mantali.

The Petronas Sarawak general manager said that the oil and gas company had contributed to various vaccination centres (PPVs) in the state.

“We are looking at how we can contribute to the PPVs based on their respective needs. For instance, in Bintulu we have contributed vaccine carrier cold boxes for the purpose of the vaccination in the rural areas.

“We have contributed laptops in Miri and most PPVs in Kuching also required these to record the vaccine recipients’ data,” he said.

Zulaihi said this during a simple presentation ceremony of laptops to the Jalan Masjid Health Clinic vaccination centre at Dewan Majma yesterday (Sunday).

The contributions were received by Satok Task Force Covid-19 Committee (TAFC-19) chairman Hilmy Othman and witnessed by Petronas board of directors member Datuk Ibrahim Baki.

Zulaihi added Petronas Sarawak encouraged the public to help the needy during this challenging period.

He said that various food baskets had been channelled to the needy across the state since last year through Petronas Dagangan.

“At this point of time, we are looking to provide more in terms of food baskets.

“We have been doing this since last year. I believe more than 5,000 recipients have benefitted from them,” he said.
