BINTULU: Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) is committed to creating a stable and favorable environment to support the growth of Sarawak’s oil and gas industry.
Its chief operating officer Adnan Zainal Abidin said the critical role of Bintulu as an industrial city, particularly for PETRONAS liquefied natural gas (LNG) Complex which has been successful operating for 40 years.
He also mentioned that the complex, recognised as the world’s third-largest LNG producer in the world, has delivered more than 12,500 LNG cargoes since 1983.
According to Adnan, its success would not have been possible without the support of government agencies that ensure the safety of plant operations and the health of the workers.
“We are truly grateful for the support of all teams, and I hope that we can maintain the cooperation between us,” he said.
He said during the Uplifting Lives (Memacu Kehidupan) programme held in conjunction with the Hari Raya celebration at Dewan Sri Kenyalang, Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (UPMKB).
PETRONAS donated food and ‘duit raya’ to 201 participants from various organisations, including PERYATIM Bintulu Complex, Hidayah Foundation Centre, schools managed by Bintulu and Sebauh District Education Office, Social Welfare Department, and Xtra Meal.
Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang was also present to distribute the donations to the recipients.
