KOTA SAMARAHAN: Pakatan Harapan candidate Abang Abdul Halil Abdul Naili wants to see a better man lead the country.

In this respect it is his hope that PH will go on to form the government following the 15th general election with its leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim becoming prime minister.

The Kota Samarahan hopeful who is pitted against GPS heavyweight Datuk Rubiah Wang made these remarks following nominations at the Kota Samarahan Civic Centre on Today.

He reminded the people they have to understand that they are not just voting for the future of the state but also that of the country.

“We take this seriously as this is a serious situation where we get to decide who is the next Prime Minister.

“This is no longer about deciding the state government but for a better Prime Minister who can lead our country to a better future and I hope people can understand that fact,” he said.

As for his own preparations Abdul Halil expressed confidence that all is going well.

“We are going pretty strong at both ends at the moment, be it campaigning online or on the ground physically,” he said.

He added that his target for this election is to help raise issues faced by the youth, women and the old folk, and to be the voice for them.

“I want to see more jobs being available for the younger generation and at the same time for the youth to be able to buy houses.

“In this current times, the younger generation who left their homes are struggling to afford houses due to their inability to earn a liveable wage.

“There are also other issues I will raise in due time for the women and the old folk as these three groups are the ones I am targeting to help,” he noted.

Abdul Halil is contesting for the Kota Samarahan seat for the first time.
