KUCHING: On the surface, Kuching City might seem somewhat unremarkable, even mundane to those who grew up here, but its streets have plenty of stories to tell.
Seven passionate photographers are putting up their favourite photos on display and sale at the Art Space, ChinaHouse at the Old Courthouse from 4 to 26 March, 2017 to highlight the beauty of Kuching’s urban sights to the public.
Organised by Saberkas Kota Sentosa, PhotoBorneo and MomentumKCH, the aptly named “Streets of Kuching” photography exhibition seeks to promote the art of street photography.
Each participating photographer strives to capture the essence of the various daily scenes Kuching has to offer.
From the modern to traditional, dynamic to enduring, each photo attempts to give viewers an inside look into what makes Kuching a city of contrasts, variety and diversity.
The art exhibition provides photographers, Lance Vun, Robin Wong, MadeySkamot, Renee Bong, Russell Ting, JeeFoong and Nizam Hakim with a platform to showcase their artworks as well as to encourage photography and art enthusiasts along with tourists to visit the venue.
All photographs on display are for sale during the exhibition and entrance is free.
While the exhibition opens to the public from 4 March onwards, the official launch will be held on 12 March.
Assistant Minister for Public Utilities (Electricity and Telecommunications) and Saberkas State Secretary-General, Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi will declare the exhibition on that day.
The exhibition opens from 12pm to 5pm Wednesday to Sunday from 4 to 26 March.
