The contest is divided into five categories: Culture, Adventure, Nature, Food, and Festivals, and is open to all Malaysians. Participation is free of charge.

“All photos must be taken in Sarawak. Photo submissions will be accepted from May 28 until June 28. To participate in this photography competition, please scan the QR code or visit https://pss1952.org/,” Lee told a press conference held at Paramount hotel here today (May 28).

He stressed that the competition’s objective is to promote Sarawak as a fascinating tourism destination, both locally and globally, through the medium of photography.

The winning photographs will be exhibited to draw attention from the public, hence to increase understanding and awareness of Sarawak’s unique and diverse culture and appreciates its natural abundance.

“Sarawak, known as the Land of the Hornbills, is a unique and extraordinary region in the Borneo Island, offering rich and unforgettable experiences in culture, adventure, nature, food, and festivals.

“Here, one can immerse themselves in the diverse cultures, cuisines, and festivities of the 34 ethnic groups.

“Thanks to the Heritage, Arts, and Culture Facilitation Fund provided by the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts (MTCP) for the second time, under the leadership of Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Hamzah Rahman, the PSS is able to organise this contest,” he stated.

He expressed his heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the Heritage, Arts, and Culture Facilitation Fund provided by MTCP for making this photography competition possible.

Such collaborations, he pointed out, should always be upheld in activities that foster creativity, adventure, and the generous sharing of experiences through imaging technology.
