KUCHING: Sarawak has been praised for a job well done in implementing the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme for Kids (PICKids).
Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said Sarawak once again showed the way in carrying out the PICKids programme for children aged five to 11 years.
“Ramping up capacity, getting on with it, and doing a good job of risk communication on the ground,” he tweeted on Thursday (Feb 10).
He urged other states to be more proactive in given protection to children.
Sarawak had recorded the second highest at 4.1 per cent vaccination rate for eligible children after Klang Valley with 4.6 per cent.
Meanwhile, Deputy Health Minister I Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali, during a working visit here on today, said nearly 280,000 children or 10.1 per cent of Sarawak’s total population was eligible to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
In another tweet, Khairy said 90 per cent of the teachers in Sarawak had received their booster shots.
“90 per cent of teachers in Sarawak are boosted. Keeping schools safe. Sarawak doing the right thing,” he tweeted.
