SRI AMAN: Police have issued a traffic summons against a man who made an illegal U-turn along KM40, Jalan Sri Aman-Sarikei, Sedarat Baru Engkilili last weekend.
The incident was detected by the police after a dashcam footage showing a pickup truck going against the traffic flow at a P-turn, went viral on Facebook on July 29.
According to the Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department, the posting has attracted negative comments condemning the driver’s action which could endanger other road users.
“Following that, the Lubok Antu traffic police managed to identify the driver.
“On Tuesday (Aug 1), Sri Aman traffic police went to the driver’s residence to assist in the investigation,” the department said.
The driver admitted his wrongdoing and a summons was issued for committing an offence under Rule 13 of the Traffic Rules 166/59.
