SERIAN: A pillion rider succumbed to his injuries in a fatal motorcycle crash along KM69, Jalan Kuching-Serian yesterday (Nov 26).
Serian police chief DSP Aswandy Anis said that the victim was identified as Jerico Alik, 25.
The accident happened around 12.05 am when the motorcycle apparently skidded and crashed into a metal road divider.
“The impact caused Jerico to sustain severe injuries to his head and legs. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
“His body was then taken to Serian Hospital for a post-mortem,” he said.
Meanwhile, the male 27-year-old rider also sustained severe injuries to his face and body in the accident.
He has since been taken to the hospital for further treatment. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987
