MUKAH: Local Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) members should not expect any special privileges because PKR is part of the federal government. This piece of advice came from the State PKR Deputy Chairman, Abdul Jalil Bujang.
“Our purpose of being with this party is not to expect special privileges but rather to assist the Pakatan Harapan government to deliver the promises it pledged in its manifesto during the 14th General Election,” he said.
Jalil said this in his opening remarks at the PKR Mukah Parliamentary Area Branch (PKR Mukah) Annual General Meeting held at a leading hotel here last Saturday. “We have to understand why we are with the party. It is to strive for the noble purposes of bringing change and developing the party members and our surrounding.
It is also to create awareness of our basic rights as responsible citizens of Malaysia,” he added. Jalil, who represented the branch head at the event, also urged the members to get ready physically and mentally to face the state election scheduled in 2021.
“Don’t forget to come back on October 6 to discharge your responsibility to elect the party leadership at the national-level,” said Jalil.
