KUCHING: Vice president of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, believes that Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) should not participate in the next state election due in 2027.

“If we look at the last election, PKR failed to achieve victory.

“So it’s not worth it, especially since we have already established a unity government at the federal level.

“So if we are together in the unity government, the spirit should not be lost during the election,” he said at a press conference at Baitulmakmur 2 Building yesterday.

Abdul Karim further clarified that Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) has proven to dominate the majority of the total 82 state assembly seats.

“Only two seats are held by the opposition, both by DAP, none by PKR,” said Abdul Karim, who is also the Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts.
