MIRI: PKR Sarawak founding member Hadie Suboh passed away peacefully yesterday morning (Nov 8) at the age of 73 at the Borneo Medical Centre.
He is survived by his wife and seven children.
Miri MP Chiew Choon Man expressed his condolences and described Hadie as a respected fighter and an extraordinary individual who contributed so much to society.
“As the Miri MP and the Youth Chief of KEADILAN Sarawak, I, along with all the members of PKR Sarawak, feel a tremendous loss at Uncle Hadie’s passing,” Chiew said in a Facebook post.
“Uncle Hadie was not just a political activist but a true fighter who bravely stood against injustice and oppression. He was the voice for the local community, particularly the rights of the indigenous people and the marginalised, and he sacrificed his heart and soul for the well-being of the people.”
“Despite coming from a humble background, he never hesitated or held back from sacrificing his time, energy, and money to defend the rights of those in need,” he added.
Chiew also called him an inspiration and role model for younger generations in state PKR.
“His name will forever be etched as a tireless fighter for the people,” he said.
Chiew extended his prayers to Hadie’s family and wished them strength during this difficult time.
