BALINGIAN: A belian bridge has been proposed to replace the existing facility which is in a state of disrepair at Kampung Sesok Lama in Mukah.
“If this project is approved, the implementers will speed up the construction of the new bridge,” said Balingian service centre officer Che Ghazali following a visit to the proposed site.
“It will be better for the residents there later,” he said, adding the existing bridge looked dilapidated and would have to be upgraded or replaced in the interest of safety.
Che Ghazali told Suara Sarawak on Tuesday (Jan 18) that their delegation had proposed to have it replaced with a belian bridge.
Also present during the visit were representatives from the Mukah District Office, the Drainage and Irrigation Department and chief of Kampung Sesok Lama (KK) Egnatius Ekun Bidi.
