SIBU: Plans are underway to have all 34 longhouses in the Nangka constituency to be well-connected by roads.
Last year, 12 had their roads either repaired or upgraded, disclosed Education and Technology Research Assistant Minister, who is also Nangka assemblyman Dr Annuar Rapaee.
“For this year, I planned to focus on the remaining 22. It will be one of my priority projects as part of our efforts to bring about greater progress to the predominantly Iban area in my area,” he was quoted as saying on his Facebook page.
“I want to make sure that all 34 longhouses in my area are well-connected by roads. Existing roads will either be repaired or upgraded,” he added.
Dr Annuar became the elected representative for Nangka after he won the state election in 2011.
He was renominated to defend the seat in the last state election in 2016 and is now serving his second term for the seat.
