KABONG: The establishment of the Betong Division Development Agency (BDDA) by the Sarawak government is not mere rhetoric, affirms Kabong assemblyman Mohd Chee Kadir, as eight projects to upgrade plantation roads undertaken by the agency have commenced work early this month.
According to him, the projects, involving an allocation of RM4.3 million, have been handed over by the Betong Division Agriculture Department as the implementing agency, to the respective contractors.
“It involves upgrading plantation roads in Tanjung Binyuk, Sungai Muroh, Blok 008 Kalaka Land Alit, Skim 15 Alit, Ulu Sungai Chingo Nyabor, Sungai Tajo Tanjung Empelam, Rumah Panjang Abing (Site A) Pangey Nyabor, and Rumah Panjang Abing (Site B) Pangey Nyabor,” he said.
He stated that all the projects were expected to be completed by June next year. The contractors involved are Nur Alam Company, Bintang Jaya Company, Fatwa Bumiputera Contractor Company, Kia Hup Sdn Bhd, Fadhullan Faqihah Enterprise, C.S Construction CO, Intan Baiduri Enterprise and Borneo Abadi Enterprise.
Chee hoped that other projects listed in the first phase of BDDA would also be implemented soon. He stated that BDDA was expected to bring about significant changes that would provide substantial benefits to the people.
