KUCHING: The Sarawak Public Works Department (PWD) director, Dr. Cassidy Morris, witnessed the signing ceremony for the One Month Pledge involving eight construction projects at the Sarawak PWD Headquarters here today (Sept 26).

According to a statement issued by Sarawak PWD, the ceremony emphasised the contractors’ commitment to commence site work immediately after taking possession of the site to ensure the projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe.

“The major projects involved include the construction of Kampung Tapang Maong Road, Serian Division; the construction of Selampit Bridge, Bau; the construction of Kampung Kendaie/Selampit Road, Lundu, Kuching Division (Design and Build); and the Banting – Gunung Lesong – Engkeranji Project, Sri Aman Division,” said the statement.

Also included were the upgrading of Bario Stolport Runway; retender for the proposed redevelopment of a dilapidated school at SK Salah Kecil, Semoop, Mukah; the upgrading of Logging Road to Mentalun Resettlement (Phase 6) in Kapit; and the construction of a new road to the Asap Resettlement Scheme (Service Centre 1), Kapit Division.

In his speech, Cassidy reminded the contractors to comply with the One Month Pledge requirements, while division engineers were directed to closely monitor the project progress.

Also present at the ceremony was senior deputy director (Projects), Project Monitoring and Implementation, Bujang Kanang.
