PM agrees for visa on arrival in Langkawi

LANGKAWI: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has in principle agreed to the implementation of the Visa On Arrival (VOA) in Langkawi, said Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Mohamaddin Ketapi.

“I have discussed with Dr Mahathir on the VOA for Langkawi and he agreed. After this, I’ll write a letter on the proposal to Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin,” he told reporters after launching the SFT3 Special Tourism Fund here today.

Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MoTAC) deputy secretary-general (Tourism)  Datuk Haslina Abdul Hamid , who was also present said the ministry had held a series of discussions with the Home Ministry on the matter.
