KUCHING: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has arrived safely in Kuching yesterday (Apr 17) for a short official visit.
According to the statement, he arrived at Kuching International Airport (KIA) via a special plane at 4:45pm.
His arrival was greeted by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.
During his short visit, Anwar will attend the opening ceremony of the Raia Hotel and Convention Center Kuching, as well as its Iftar ceremony with asnaf and orphans.
After the programme, he is scheduled to perform Maghrib, Isyak, and Tarawih prayers at the same hotel before departing to Kuala Lumpur later in the evening.
Also present during his arrival were Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian, State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Marzuki Abu Bakar, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin, and Minister in the Premier’s Department Datuk John Sikie Tayai.
