KUCHING: On Sarawak Day, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob had wished that Sarawak would continue to prosper.
He also wished the people in the state to be in harmony.
“The date, July 22 is a very special day as it commemorates the handing over of the administration of the state to the citizens of Sarawak.
“I am proud to see the current development and progress that the state of Sarawak has experienced,” he said in his Facebook post today.
Ismail also took the opportunity to wish all Sarawakian a ‘Happy Sarawak Day’.
This year’s Sarawak Day celebration will take place in Sibu at its indoor stadium. Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib and wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib are expected to grace the function.
Among the programmes that are scheduled for the celebration are a video screening, a musical theatre, dance performances and a rendition of ‘Sarawak Day 2022’ song performance.
The audience will also be entertained by performances by local artistes like Faizal Tahir, Ricky Andrewson, Claudia Geres, Gabriel Fairuz Louis, Firdaus Materang, Valarie Thiam and Chien.
