MUKAH: Mukah Polytechnic (PMU) is hoping job seekers will use the MyFutureJobs portal as their primary platform for finding employment.
By doing so they, particularly Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) graduates, will benefit from the employment services provided by Socso through various employers.
In stating this Programme Director and Head of PMU’s Psychology Management Unit, Azrol Adenan, said Socso can assist in terms of finding new job opportunities.
He said this in conjunction with a Myfuturejobs Career Launchpad Series 3 programme at PMU recently during which 116 alumni and students attended an open interview.
A total of 105 of them succeeded in moving on to a second interview.
According to the Azrol Adenan the programme was inspired by the Career Launchpad@PolyCC 2023 Programme.
“That programme was a pilot initiative by the Department of Polytechnic and Community College Education in collaboration with Socso in 2023, involving 10 polytechnics and community colleges,” he said.
He said this programme not only helps PMU graduates but also assists industry employers in finding suitable candidates for various positions.
PMU’s involvement in collaboration with Socso Sarawak serves to open up an active labour market for TVET graduates.
“As a TVET institution, PMU collaborates with Socso to respond to the Malaysian government’s Madani initiative in the 2023 budget presentation, which aims to reactivate the economy and provide income-generating opportunities.
“Additionally, it directly engages in exploring new job opportunities suitable for generating income for Malaysians, especially for TVET graduates,” he added.
