KUCHING: One new face was among the 32 sworn in yesterday as political secretaries to the chief minister for a 15-month period from Oct 1 this year until December 2020.
The latest addition is Fung Kok Shiun @ Brian Fung of the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP).
Thirty-one others are 19 from Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) namely Abu Seman Jahwie, Kenil Jaraie, Victor Temenggong Angang, Romeo Christopher Tegong, Maurice Joannes Giri, Buang Bolhassan, Sharkawi Suhaili, Julani Mokhtar, Petrus Igat Mathias, Dr Richard Rapu, Michael Mujah Lihan, Tapah Ata, Charles Balan Seling, Abdul Samat Gany, Dr Simon Sinang Bada, Jenny Bangga, Fridah Osman, Dayang Nurlizawawi Abang Abdul Karim and Susan Chemerai Anding; and five from Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) namely Datuk Seri Doris Sophia Brodie, Nicholas Kudi Jantai, Edwin Banta, Charles Chad Nissom and Beatrice Kedoh Tajang.
Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) also has five while PDP three.
The five from SUPP are Michael Tiang Ming Tee, Tan Kai, Teng Ung Woo, Daniel Bujal and Spoo Li Ching while two others from PDP who had their term of service renewed are Alexander Asing Sadai and Robert Ayu.
They took their oath of office before Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) in Petra Jaya.
Also present were the DUN speaker Datuk Amar Awang Asfia Awang Nassar and his deputy Datuk John Sikie Tayai; Transport Assistant Minister Datuk Dr Jerip Susil; Local Government and Housing Assistant Minister Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil; Tourism, Arts and Culture Assistant Minister Datuk Sebastian Ting; and Deputy State Secretary Datuk Ik Pahon.
