BINTULU: Police here have arrested five locals, believed to be suspects in a break-in at a church, through “Ops Pintu”.

Bintulu police chief Supt Zulkipli Suhaili said in a press statement that the suspects, aged between 20 and 30 years old, were nabbed by a unit led by Insp Nixon Malang on Monday.

“Following the arrest, we retrieved stolen items from three separate locations; the Bintulu old bazaar, Kampung Jabai area and Sebauh,” Supt Zulkipli said.

Among the items retrieved were several mobile phones, musical instruments, a television and two units of speakers,” he said.

“All suspects are currently under police custody until March 4 to assist our probe into the church break-in case in Tanjong Kidurong.”
