MIRI: A local man from Lambir, frustrated because his mother forgot to buy him soft drinks while on her way back from work, destroyed his family’s belongings in their home last Saturday.

The 25-year-old man was also said to have attempted to beat his younger sister during the process, after she refused to follow him to a nearby grocery shop to buy the soft drink he wanted.

A police report has been lodged by the man’s sister at Miri Central police station (CPS).

Acting on the report lodged, a team from the Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) apprehended the man at his family home that same night at 11.30pm to assist the police in probes pertaining to the incident.

Miri police chief ACP Hakemal Hawaro confirmed that the arrest was made.
